Recruitment Privacy Notice
How we collect, use and protect your personal data when you apply for a role with us.
This Recruitment Privacy Notice explains how RS Construction & Property Services Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses the personal data of job applicants and candidates. It supplements our main Privacy Policy and applies whenever you apply for a role with us, whether through our Careers page, by email or via a recruitment agency.
1. Who we are
RS Construction & Property Services Ltd is the data controller for the personal data you provide during recruitment. We are a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 07425679) with our address at Unit 86 Industrial Park, Roding Road, London, E6 6LS. 2. The data we collect
When you apply for a role with us, we may collect:
- Your full name and date of birth
- Your home address, telephone number and email address
- The position you are applying for and your cover letter
- Your CV, work history, qualifications and any documents you upload
- Confirmation of your right to work in the UK
- References and the outcome of any pre-employment checks
- How you heard about us
- Information about medical conditions or disabilities that you choose to disclose. This is special category data concerning your health, which we only process to meet our obligations and make reasonable adjustments during recruitment.
3. How we use your data and our lawful bases
We use your data to assess your application, communicate with you and manage the hiring process. Under the UK GDPR our lawful bases are our legitimate interests in recruiting for our business and taking steps to enter into an employment contract with you. For health or disability information we rely on your explicit consentand/or our obligations under employment law (Article 9(2)(b) UK GDPR). Where we are legally required to, we process data to confirm your right to work and to comply with the law.
4. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us operate (for example our website and email providers), with referees you have nominated, and with authorities where we are required to do so by law. Any providers act on our instructions and are bound to keep your data secure.
5. How long we keep it
If your application is successful, your data becomes part of your employment record. If your application is unsuccessful, we keep your details for a limited period so we can consider you for suitable future roles and deal with any queries, after which we securely delete them. You can ask us to remove your details sooner at any time.
6. Keeping your data secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we restrict access to those who need it for recruitment purposes.
7. Your rights
You have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
