Modern Slavery Statement
Our commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain.
This statement is made by RS Construction & Property Services Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and our supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and to having effective systems and controls in place to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chain.
1. Our business
RS Construction & Property Services Ltd is an East London based multi-trade construction and property maintenance contractor, established in 2010 and working across London and the South East. We deliver construction, refurbishment and maintenance services across the social housing, education, commercial and private residential sectors. Our registered address is Unit 86 Industrial Park, Roding Road, London, E6 6LS (Company No. 07425679).
2. Our supply chains
Our supply chains include subcontractors, labour providers, materials suppliers and equipment hire. We recognise that the construction sector can carry a heightened risk of labour exploitation, particularly within lower-tier subcontracting and the supply of temporary or agency labour, and we focus our due diligence accordingly.
3. Our policies
We operate policies that reflect our commitment to acting ethically and lawfully in all our relationships. These work alongside our wider governance, including our Equal Opportunities commitments, and our recruitment and right-to-work checks, which help ensure that those working on our projects are doing so freely and lawfully.
4. Due diligence
As part of our efforts to identify and mitigate risk, we:
- Carry out right-to-work checks on the people we engage
- Assess and monitor our subcontractors and labour providers
- Expect those in our supply chain to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
- Encourage the reporting of concerns and protect those who raise them
5. Risk assessment and management
We assess the risk of modern slavery across our operations and supply chain and prioritise the areas of greatest risk — in particular the engagement of agency and temporary labour. Where we identify concerns we take appropriate action, which may include further enquiry, remediation or ending a business relationship.
6. Training and awareness
We raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and site teams so that they understand the signs of exploitation and know how to report concerns. We keep our approach under review and seek to strengthen it over time.
7. Reporting concerns
Anyone with concerns about modern slavery connected to our business or supply chain should contact us at info@rs-construction.com or 020 7473 2842. Concerns can also be reported confidentially to the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700.
8. Approval
This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our modern slavery and human trafficking statement. It has been approved by the board of directors.
